Driving Test Questions

Thank you, for choosing me as your driving instructor and good luck with your driving test. I would like to give you a brief run down on what happens on the day of your driving test.
Firstly, arrive in good time for your test, 10 minutes before your appointment time. When the tester calls you he will ask to see your provisional licence, then he will ask what car you are using for the test. Then he will ask you some questions on the rules of the road and ask you to identify some road signs, you will find these in the Rules of the Road book.

He will then ask you to lead him out to your car where he will inspect your tax disc, your insurance disc, L-plates, tyres and general condition of the car. He will then ask you to explain how technical checks are performed on the car [see back page]. He will ask you to show him that your brake lights and indicator lights are working. When you get in to the car he will go through the secondary controls [see back page]. He will explain what he will be asking you to do during the test; you will drive for approximately 20-30 minutes where you will do manoeuvring, a left or right hand reverse, a turnabout, also you will have to do a hill start and demonstrate some hand signals. When you return to the test center he will ask you to return to the room you started in, and will give you the result of your test. If you fail he will give you a report of the points you failed on. You should take note of these points and correct them before you do the test again.
